Mr M. Pourani

Managing Director and Founder of Clinic Nine
Mr Pourani qualified from Gothenburg University 1997. Mr. Pourani has been a top-level dental surgeon for over 11 years and is presently the founder and managing director of Clinic Nine. Mr Pourani’s particular interests are in Aesthetics, Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry, Dermal and Facial Aesthetics, and Laser Dentistry. Mr Pourani's forward thinking approach lead him to the concept of an all encompassing facial aesthetics clinic. His attitude in creating the clinic has been in the unrelenting pursuit of perfection, and this is reflected in his meticulous attention to detail throughout.
Mr N. Jarrett
Operational Director
Mr Jarrett qualified as a trained theatre practitioner in 1980 after two years study at the Brook Hospital in London. He went on to work as a surgical assistant in Canterbury Hospital for a number of years before completing his adult and further education teaching certificate and taking a Clinical Tutors role in Northampton and Oxford. During this time he studied NHS Management and two years later took up my first management position in Ysbyty Gwynedd North Wales.
Following this he took up a position as theatre and anaesthetic manager in the new Worthing hospital. During his time at Worthing he has been responsible for theatres, endoscopy, general surgical wards, sterile supplies unit, audiology and many other departments. He now has over twelve year’s management experience and 25 years experience of theatre work.
Dr. Mehta is registered by the General Dental Council as a specialist in Periodontics. Dr. Mehta qualified in 1992 and since then has gained extensive experience in oral surgery working in some of the countries leading hospitals. Dr. Mehta has held several hospital posts and during this period he passed the Fellowship in Dental Surgery examination of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDS RCS).
In the period 2000 – 2003 he was also undergoing his three years specialist training in Periodontology at the St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Whitechapel, London. Dr. Mehta completed the newly created Master of Clinical Dentistry degree in Periodontology and at the end of 2003 passed examinations to obtain a The Diploma of Membership in Restorative Dentistry from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
He currently teaches the undergraduates students at King’s College Hospital Dental Institute Department of Periodontology Guy’s Campus.
With his extensive practical experience at the Queen Mary’s School of Medicine And Dentistry, University of London, Dr. Mehta is in a unique position to offer patients the latest in proven clinical advances in Periodontics.
Dr Maslinda Mohamad

Dr Mohamad graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1997. She worked in the Dental Division of the Ministry of Health. During this time, Maslinda undertook rotations in various departments, which included Restorative Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Community Care.
Maslinda arrived in the UK to start her postgraduate training at Guy’s Hospital in 1999 with Professor Tom Pitt Ford. She worked alongside Dr Chris Stock and Dr Mary Hudson.
Maslinda offers a whole range of endodontic services including, pain diagnosis, post removal, surgical treatment and re-treatments using the most up to date equipment including a high technology microscope.
Dr Rob Hemmingway

Rob is a registered specialist by the General Dental Council in Orthodontics & Oral Surgery. He qualified from University College Hospital Dental School, London in 1984. He has filled hospital posts in both Orthodontics & Oral Surgery and was awarded his dental fellowship in 1993.
His Orthodontic training was completed at Liverpool Dental Hospital in 1998, during which time he was awarded a masters from Liverpool University and a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edingburgh.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and clinical experience & is certified in Incognito(TM) & Invisalign(TM). He is happy to provide the full range of cosmetic Orthodontics & surgical adjuncts to Orthodontics. He is committed to the provision of quality.
Mr S. Watts

Clinical Lead Ear Nose and Throat Surgery
Mr Watts trained as an ENT surgeon in Newcastle upon Tyne after which he sub-specialised as a Rhinologist and Facial Plastic Surgeon. This was facilitated by the Joseph Fellowship which was awarded by the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery underpinned by extensive experience in Europe and America.
He is now accredited by the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons and holds the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery board exam certification.
Now he is employed as an ENT Consultant and Facial Plastic Surgeon in Brighton and Worthing, with sub-specialist interests in sinus problems, rhinoplasty and soft tissue facial reconstruction. This is augmented by research into rhinoplasty and sinus disease plus teaching commitments to both undergraduates here at Brighton Medical School and postgraduate trainees here in the UK and Europe.
In his spare time he is a keen sportsman, sailor and traveller. He is happily married to Julie and has a beautiful daughter Meggie.
Mr Alan Wilson

Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Alan Wilson qualified form Edinburgh Dental Hospital in 1985. He subsequently became a Fellow in Dental Surgery at the Royal college of Surgeon of Edinburgh in 1989, and was awarded the Deans Medal for his performance in the Fellowship examinations. His chosen areas of sub-specialization for this Fellowship were in Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery. He then went on to complete his medical training at Southampton Medical School, qualifying in 1993 with first class honours. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1997, before entering the South Coast Oral & Maxillofacial Training Programme later that year. He completed his specialist training in 2002, successfully obtaining his Fellowship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in May 2001.
Alan was appointed as Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at St Richards Hospital Chichester and Worthing and Southlands hospitals in June 2002. He is now Lead Clinician for the department.
He has published extensively, with numerous papers on a wide variety of topics, and has contributed 2 book chapters to leading Maxillofacial Textbooks.

Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Des Holden qualified from King's College London 1987. His post graduate studies were in East Anglia and prior to appointment to Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. In 2000 he spent 7 years working in St George's Hospital London where he gained a PhD in Biochemical medicine and was the lecturer Fetal Medicine. He is a busy NHS Obstetrician Consultant and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Brighton and Sussex medical school. He has a clinical and research interest in medical problems in pregnancy, placental function and fetal growth.
Specialist in Foot & Ankle Surgery, Knee Surgery and Sports Injuries
Mr Simon Palmer is an Orthopaedic consultant, with British & Specialist Australian expertise in surgery of the lower limb including foot and ankle surgery and knee surgery. He also has worldwide recognised experience in trauma and sports injuries. Mr. Palmer developed his speciality in surgery of the foot, ankle and knee as a fellow of the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic in Australia. At this time he also developed his interests in sports medicine and sporting injury. He has an MSc in Sports Medicine from the University of Bath and is on the Faculty of Sports Medicine of the Royal College of Surgeons. Mr Palmer has a keen research interest and has published and presented papers worldwide. Current interests include, minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery (including keyhole bunion surgery or minimally invasive bunion surgery), cartilage transplantation, joint replacement (including ankle replacement) and sports injuries. He also has a busy medicolegal practice.
Mr M. F. Caruana

Mr Caruana was educated at St. Aloysius College in Malta. He graduated in 1992 as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MD) and underwent surgical training in Malta and London. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) in 1997 and subsequently performed research in London in the field of gene therapy and transplantation leading on to a Masters Degree in Surgical Sciences (MSc) with Distinction for his thesis.
Mr Caruana went on to train in General and Vascular Surgery in various hospitals around East Anglia. During this period in the UK as well as during time spent in America he always sought to gain as much experience as possible in all aspects of Vascular Surgery. In 2002 he moved to Birmingham (University Hospital and Heart of England) where he underwent higher training in Vascular Surgery and passed the Intercollegiate Fellowship in Surgery. In 2004 he was awarded the Specialist Diploma in Vascular Surgery by the European Board of Surgery (EBSQVasc).
During these years he has published and presented various papers both nationally and internationally. His interests include the management of all aspects of venous and arterial disease including stroke prevention and aneurysm surgery as well as limb saving surgery for severe circulation disorders. Other research interests have included travel related thrombosis and sweating disorders. A further key professional interest is Medical Education and he is currently reading towards a degree on the subject as well as teaching regularly (e.g. vascular access surgery at Sussex University).
In 2005, together with Peter E Laws, he was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon for Worthing Hospital and the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. They have worked closely together to establish a full vascular service on both sites as well as developing vascular access surgery for renal failure patients in Sussex.

Dr Thomas Nel qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa in 1983 and a Diploma in Sedation and Pain Control in 2001. He was the founding partner of a large medical practice in Johannesburg, South Africa. He came to England in 1994 and worked as an Anaesthetist/Sedationist in dental surgeries throughout the UK. Dr Nel began practicing aesthetic medicine in 2000 and has vast experience in all aspects of cosmetic medicine. Dr Nel owns and runs two Cosmetic Companies, Leoline Limited and Cosmederm Aesthetics Limited. He specializes in many aesthetic treatments including Botulinum Toxin administration, IPL and Laser therapies, Dermal Fillers and Laser Lipolysis. In addition, Dr Nel specialises in Anti-Ageing Medicine and Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. He is a member of the GMC, Irish Medical Council, International Hormone Society, European Society for Laser Aesthetic Surgery, World Society of Anti Ageing Medicine, American Academy of Anti Ageing Medicine and the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors.
Debbie Peebles

Debbie has worked in the cosmetic industry for over 20 years where she has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience.
She is very experienced in, and carries out the Chemical Peel Treatments and Semi Permanent Makeup at Clinic Nine. Debbie also has over 10 years of clinical experience working with lasers and Intense Pulsed Light sources to provide a wide variety of treatments, and has also worked alongside Doctors and Consultant Dermatologists in a leading Harley Street Clinic. Prior to specialising in laser treatments, Debbie has also worked as a make-up artist for film and television and has also been a healthcare manager for a laser clinic. Deborah specialised in Laser hair removal and advanced skin treatments including impulsed light treatment for photo-rejuvenation roscea, sun damaged skin and pigmentation problems.
