Treatment of dilated blood vessels

These are quite simply dilated blood vessels. Aneurysms of the abdominal aorta (The main blood vessel in the belly) occur in 5% of men over the age of 65. This relatively common but potentially fatal problem can be diagnosed by our resident sonographers, using a simple ultrasound scan. Once diagnosed a care pathway can be developed to keep an eye on the aneurysms growth, need for further investigation and treatment.
