Bunion Hallux Valgus SurgeryA bunion is a painful enlargement at the joint of the big toe with deformity. This can lead to inflammation of the skin over the joint becomes swollen and frequently causes pain. It is not certain what causes bunions but it is known that they are frequently exacerbated but wearing uncomfortable footwear and a genetic predisposition.

Clinic Nine's Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Simon Palmer has many years of experience in the field of corrective and minimally invasive foot surgery and can undertake corrective surgery under local anaesthetic on site. We will arrange a consultation prior to surgery and the Consultant will discuss the type of treatment best for you. It is important to remember that the main intention of hallux valgus correction is to relieve the pain and deformity associated with bunions. This operative procedure will take about half an hour.
