Reassurance and Anomaly Scans
The baby’s position can be seen i.e. whether it is head down (cephalic) rather than head up (breech). This information can help us evaluate how the baby is orientating itself for the coming delivery. Using Doppler ultrasound we check the blood flow through the placenta and ensure the growing foetus is getting the nutrients and oxygen it needs. Finally, we record the position of the placenta. This ensures that the placenta is not covering the exit of the uterus which might affect your ability to give birth naturally through a normal vaginal delivery. |
